Operation Mockingbird

  • by

During the Cold War, the CIA infiltrated major news outlets in a covert operation known as Operation Mockingbird. Starting in the late 1940s, the agency recruited journalists to act as assets, planting stories and manipulating narratives to counter Soviet propaganda. This effort aimed to shape public opinion and support U.S. government policies both domestically and internationally.
