America’s Lost Civilization Is Hiding in Plain Sight

A building goes up in a single year. Massive stone columns, carved domes, work that would take a modern crew a decade. Then, a few decades later, they tear it down. Once is strange. Chris Kelly has documented it happening hundreds of times.

Chris Kelly is a former carpenter and author who has spent years photographing and researching these buildings across America. This episode goes through the images one at a time and check the official story against what the construction actually required: the quarrying, the custom stonework, the footings, the workforce it would have taken. They look at thirty cathedrals credited to one architect inside a ten-year window, at buildings in Japan and Germany that look like they came from the same hand, and at the first floors that sit buried below street level.

Then the podcast turns to the World’s Fairs. Two years to build a city, six months of exhibition, then demolition. They examine the photographs showing fully mature trees on grounds supposedly cleared from nothing, and ask what we are really looking at. Chris makes the case that these were not built for the fairs at all, but found, dressed up, and eventually erased.

Were these buildings thrown together by frontier towns and casually destroyed, or are they the remains of a civilization written out of the record?
