What if everything we’ve been told about the 1800s is wrong? Man In America goes into the mystery of the World’s Fairs, looking beyond America to the colossal exhibitions that appeared across the world, supposedly built in just a few years and then largely demolished and forgotten.
He examines the construction photos that are supposed to prove how these magnificent structures were built, take a closer look at the strange anomalies hiding in plain sight, and try to comprehend the sheer scale of what they claim our ancestors accomplished. But then we’re going even deeper. Because the more photographs I study from the 1800s, the more I keep noticing something that doesn’t make sense: magnificent cities, cathedrals and neoclassical giants surrounded by strangely empty landscapes. Where is everybody? Could these photographs, along with bizarre clues like the so-called “repopulation postcards,” be pointing toward some kind of massive depopulation event that history never told us about? I don’t know the answer. But tonight, we’re going to follow the evidence wherever it leads.
